Xavier Reyes is a charter school founder and influencer in the world of school choice, with deep ties in the both the Charter School community and the Spanish Language market.
Xavier is the founder and CEO of Alta Public Schools, a Charter Management Organization, offering International Baccalaureate (IB) education to communities in need. Xavier and his wife Griselda are the organizers and sponsors of the Choices Expo, CA conference connecting and empowering charter schools and education innovators. They are also the organizers and sponsors of annual Charter School Job Fairs around the state of California – San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oakland and Sacramento
Xavier created a Charter School Incubator program with the California Charter School Association and is member of numerous Charter Schools Boards.

Dr. Jamie Valenzuela-Mumau
Superintendent, Alta Public Schools
Dr. Valenzuela-Mumau is a groundbreaking educational leader with proven success in supporting the professional growth of teachers and administrators. He brings over 20 years of educational experience serving as a teacher, a site and district administrator at both elementary and secondary levels. He most recently has served as an Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services at a county level. His vast expertise along with his professional experiences and successes in improving student outcomes have prepared him to assist with meeting the needs of the educational community.

Gordon Freedman
President, National Laboratory for Education Transformation
Freedman founded NLET because there was no national resource to research, analyze and redesign education practice and learning strategies that worked at a strategic level incorporating the advanced information technologies commonly used in consumer and commercial social and data technologies.
Freedman served as VP, Global Education Strategy for eLearning leader Blackboard, Inc. from 2005 until 2012. In this position, he visited 18 countries and met with numerous leaders in government, higher educations, schools, research institutes and related associations. He also helped create, as well as led, the Blackboard Institute, which concentrated on K-through-College progression in the U.S. Freedman’s global work for Blackboard focused on education change and innovation primarily in higher education and government policy.
